چکیده
The results of a numerical study an ordered substitution double-segment into the unit cell square artificial spin ice are presented. Each pattern vertex has three magnetic moment configurations that compete to form ground state in zero applied field, including nearest-neighbor and next-nearest-neighbor interaction contributions total magnetostatic energy. depends on number lattice sites considered spacing between two film segments comprise double segment. Monte Carlo simulations reveal doub le-segment sublattice adopts long-range antiferromagnetic order can be supplanted by quadrupole applying in-plane field perpendicular easy axis. quadrupole-ordered consists weakly correlated chains double-segments with antiparallel polarizations, which admits many different states reflect very high degree frustration.

Thermally induced magnetic relaxation in square artificial spin ice
The properties of natural and artificial assemblies of interacting elements, ranging from Quarks to Galaxies, are at the heart of Physics. The collective response and dynamics of such assemblies are dictated by the intrinsic dynamical properties of the building blocks, the nature of their interactions and topological constraints. Here we report on the relaxation dynamics of the magnetization of...
متن کاملTransition from the Z2 spin liquid to antiferromagnetic order: Spectrum on the torus
We describe the finite-size spectrum in the vicinity of the quantum critical point between a Z2 spin liquid and a coplanar antiferromagnet on the torus. We obtain the universal evolution of all low-lying states in an antiferromagnet with global SU(2) spin rotation symmetry, as it moves from the 4-fold topological degeneracy in a gapped Z2 spin liquid to the Anderson “tower-of-states” in the ord...

Brillouin light scattering study of magnetic-element normal modes in a square artificial spin ice geometry
We report the results, from experimental and micromagnetic studies, of the magnetic normal modes in artificial square spin ice systems consisting of ferromagnetic-monodomain islands. Spin-wave properties are measured by Brillouin light scattering. The mode spectra contain several branches whose frequencies are sensitive to the magnitude and in-plane orientation of an applied magnetic field. We ...
